DJ/Producer Jan Cree is Glasgow’s new hero of electro/tech house and Funky Soulful house renowned for his intense DJ sets. Jan has played alongside the likes of Pryda, 2 Many Dj’s, Timo Mass, Roger Sanchez and Paul Oakenfold and also legendary club nights Colours & BacktoBasics in Leeds.
His style is a dynamic mix of dark electro/tech-house and slick minimal grooves. On the production side, Jan has been tirelessly working on some successful releases on some of the world’s hottest new labels Tronic-B7, Eltronic Fusion, Bulletdodge Records, Hamburg Aufnahmen, Plasmapool, PureTrax , Stereofly Recordings and Naked Lunch records and PISO Records. This has culminated in Jan being recognised and snapped up by some of the largest underground club nights in the UK.
Jan’s involvement in the industry includes events and production management. From playing the legendary Arches and Tunnel night clubs in Glasgow to residency’s in Berlin Edinburgh and his appearance’s in Ibiza during 2007/2008 playing clubs Plastik, Hush, and also organising a number of beach parties.
Jan’s production was formed as a result of his involvement with the record label BULLET DODGE over the past 6 years.
2008 saw the launch of 6 new releases which are going from strength to strength. Jan’s first release in 2009 “ELEVATOR” through the label PLASMAPOOL charted at No2 and moved to the No1 slot the very next week.
Jan’s abilities in the studio are endless. He has churned out some immaculate material that has slotted into a cross section of different DJs sets. With top flight acts eagerly waiting for news of new releases and remix work.
The success of Jan’s recent production has given him the opportunity to be a lot more experimental with his style and in doing so work with some of the leading producers on the scene. Many of his recent releases have been championed by some major like Groove Armada who are major players on the scene at present and are picking up radio plays across the globe.
Jan now also produces under the alias TWENTYS PLENTY. Along with fellow producer Graeme Speirs Jan is turning out some quality tech house and minimal tunes with bookings for the TWENTS PLENTY coming in very fast.
